All aboard – Resthaven friends enjoy a first-class morning
A group of four lucky residents were whisked away to a world of elegance and adventure recently when they stepped aboard the virtual dining car of the Orient Express for a meal to remember.
Reminiscent of the romance of luxury travel, the table was set with beautiful linen, glassware and crystal lamps. Drinks were served on departure and soon the ‘travellers’ were enjoying a delicious two-course lunch watching through their TV window as their journey took them through snowy mountainous regions and rolling countryside. Lunch was followed with decadent after-dinner mint chocolates.
Resident, Merridy, had won the special experience as a lucky door prize at our Easter event and was excited to invite her friends Rhonda, Annie and Margaret to join her. “What a wonderful event! It really felt like we were travelling somewhere special,” she said. “The attention to detail made it quite surreal.”
Lifestyle lead, Emma, was helped by Lifestyle Officer, Suzanne, and volunteer, Sue to bring this idea to life. “We’re always looking for unique ways to add fun and this was an opportunity to do something special for some of our residents. It was lovely to see the group truly embrace the idea of their adventure,” she said.
